Where does your Travel Agent go for his holidays? Well my last holiday was to this weeks ‘Hotel of the week’ the excellent Iberostar Papagayo Hotel. An ideal choice for couples and families the hotel is located in Playa Blanca just a 10-15 minute stroll from the picturesque Marina Rubicon. The hotel offers a choice of board but most clients seem to opt for the all inclusive option, there is also evening entertainment and an animation team to keep the kids and the active busy during the day too. Rooms are well equipped and spacious and with an adjacent apartment block also part of the hotel’s inventory (linked by an under-the-road tunnel ) the options for any size of party can be catered for.
Pleasant staff help create a relaxing atmosphere and the pool area is great for spending lazy days in the lovely year round Canary Island sunshine.
I last stayed here as recently as last September and would definitely stay here again, the hotel lived up to its 4 star rating and I had no complaints whatsoever, I realise that food is about personal preference but my family all thought that the buffet style choice of food was of a very good standard with a wide choice available every day.
Any downsides I hear you say? Well the hotel is not close to the best beaches but we did catch one of the regular coaches a couple of times that picks up at the hotel and drops you by the popular Playa Dorada beach. The other thing is a bit picky but who in their right mind puts black tiles in the pool, surely blue is the inviting colour??
With excellent holiday facilities and an enduringly good level of service the Iberostar Papagayo is a very worthy rec
ipient of our ‘Hotel of the Week’ title, if you would like to see a quick video of the hotel click below, the pool with the blue tiles belong to the apartment block mentioned above.
